A report in the Altoona Mirror, courtesy of the Tribune Review indicates that Washington & Jefferson College has announced a 44% cut in tuition rates for the 2023-24 academic year. The move is to try to attract and keep students at w&j, which is seeing falling rates of incoming students just like many other colleges because of high tuition costs. The report also stated that across the nation, student enrollment rates were down again heading into the current term, and that fewer traditional students 18-22 year olds are enrolling. W&J calls the initiative a price adjustment. Drexel and Allegheny College have also announced reduced tuition for potential students.
