A report in the Altoona Mirror suggests that police were sent to the area of 6th ave and 10th street just before 3 pm Wednesday, 911 dispatchers called police after it was reported that several kids were seen running from the area after a shots fired report was issued. Penn Lincoln elementary, and both Altoona junior and senior high schools were told to stay in place for approximately 15 minutes, until ,the situation was secured. The incident occurred right at dismissal time for students. The Altoona Police dept is investigating the incident.
