In a report by WTAJ, some customers of UPMC in the region were recently notified that they will have to look for another pharmacy to fill their prescriptions. The report indicates that UPMC had what appears to be a sudden change in their individual healthcare plan or a business with less than 50 employees, that has dropped some 1200 pharmacies that patients use. This change means that customers may have to find another participating pharmacy with UPMC, which could signal a hardship for many. Two pharmacists told channel 10 that this could also trigger higher out of pocket costs for customers or they may have have to wait longer for their prescriptions.
