According to a report by WTAJ, players claimed some $2.3 billion in winnings for the calendar year, and the lottery did alright for itself as well. March saw the largest claim of ticket winnings with more than $326 million going to lucky winners. Also, 6 tickets for Powerball winnings were sold in Pennyslvania, which totaled $1.5 million. By August, the lottery reported having generated more than $1 billion for senior programs. A fast play prize of $2.4 million was handed out in the Philadelphia area. The total for the entire year should be released sometime in January.
