News reports suggest that this coming Sunday, commuters that use the turnpike will have to fork out more money to use the statewide highway. A 5% increase in tolls will go into effect on Sunday. Now if you do use the turnpike and have more than 4 outstanding toll by plate payments due, or if you have $250 or more in unpaid tolls, you could lose your vehicle registration. The latest toll increase will come at the expense of e-z pass users and those who pay with the toll by plate system. The annual toll hike will continue into the foreseeable future.
