A report by WTAJ indicates that the Centre County commissioners are ramping up efforts to get broadband access to nearly 8000 residences that are currently underserved or do not have service at all. Commissioner Amber Concepcion said that this is an economic issue for the county, and must be addressed. The commissioners said that they are looking for a willing partner to hopefully provide an affordable internet product, so they can get the service to those now without. The county is looking to the state for possible funding for the project, and hope to start actual work on the project by June.
