Since “Irish season” is upon us with March and the approach of St. Patrick’s Day, the latest “Local Song of the Week” spotlight goes to Harrisburg-based Celtic rock group the Kilmaine Saints, who will make their first Altoona visit at McGarvey’s on Saturday night, March 4. Formed in 2009, the group has played throughout the state and the Northeast with their rowdy brand of Celtic and Irish-flavored rock and punk. If you listen to Q94 Classic Rock’s weekly local music program, the “Homegrown Rocker,” you have likely heard this group on the annual St. Patrick’s Day special and other times during the year as well!
