A second crash occurred between Dayton and Columbus caused residents within 1000 feet of the derailment to have to shelter in place. Norfolk southern officials assured the general public there as no safety issues with the derailed cars, and that there was no hazardous materials involved. This is the second derailment of an ns train in Ohio in the past month. NS is still dealing with the fallout at East Palestine after toxic chemicals spilled from a train that derailed that caused many health issues for residents.
