WJAC reports that police in Indiana County have arrested and charged 55 year old Lara Brown for allegedly stealing money that belonged to the United High School marching band program. Police reported that brown is accused of taking over $50,000 between 2019 and 2022. The booster club president alerted state police to suspicious activity with the band’s bank account. Brown reportedly resigned from her position as band club treasurer at the time the investigation began. Police say that brown is alleged to have purchased fuel, groceries and decorations for he own use. She was arraigned on Tuesday and is locked up in the Indiana County jail on $100,000 bail, charged with theft and related crimes.
