According to a report in the Altoona Mirror, city officials have delayed the opening of the pool by one week. The delay was caused by inclement weather, that postponed the opening because work on patching and painting of the pool had to be stopped. The paint takes 7-10 days to dry effectively so it will be resistant to chlorinated water. The pool was schedule to open this weekend, but has been pushed back to June 3rd. City councilman Dave Ellis say that once the pool is open, there will be a slew of summertime activities for all to enjoy.
