In a report by WTAJ, Centre County emergency response officials say that the number of calls for ems services continue to increase, while the numbers of workers and funding continues to decrease. Also the cost for a new ambulance continues to skyrocket, now costing around $250,000 each, and officials say that is a huge concern, if funding doesn’t increase. Commissioner Steve Dersham says that more funding from the state is needed soon to keep EMS service alive in Centre County, because he says without it, no telling how many lives could and would be lost if there was no ems service.
