The Altoona Mirror reports that the Amtran board has given the green light to purchasing 3 additional compressed natural gas powered buses to complete the fleet of all CNG powered buses. The new additions will cost about $700,000 each, and will take the place of the 3 remaining diesel/electric hybrid buses now on the job. The board will finalize the purchase order in august, and then Amtran can order the new vehicles, which will take approximately 14 months to be delivered. Funding for the new buses will come from Penndot and the federal transit administration
