Penelec has announced that the first controlled outage will take place tomorrow in the Juniata section of Altoona, with some 495 customers to be affected. Penelec will be installing a new pole and power supply for a business, and will work on replacing older poles nearby. Parts of chestnut ave, 11th street, Juniata Gap road, North 4th, 6th and 7th avenues, Broadway, North 2nd street and North 10th street. Penelec says that the work is scheduled to be done between 8am-3pm tomorrow, with Wednesday as the rain date. The second controlled power outage will be this Thursday that will affect Cayuga Avenue, some parts of Pleasant Valley Blvd and Evans road.
