According to a report by WTAJ, the Altoona Fire Dept was called out to the scene on the corner of 11th street and Lexington Avenue shortly before 10 pm Friday night. The report states that several people were apparently standing on the stairs outside a building when they gave way and collapsed. 3 people suffered injuries and were taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment. No other details were given. The fire dept and codes office are investigating to determine what caused the stairs to collapse.
