
The Altoona Mirror reports that county leaders are against the proposed change because of logistic problems changing the date would create. Elections director Sarah Seymore says that changing the date to an earlier one will cause an overlap with the completion of the 2023 fall election in terms of getting all work done, and begin the process of setting up the primary elections. Many states have changed their primary states, so voters would not have to vote during Passover. The proposed change wold also cause problems for schools that act as polling places for some residents.
