A report by WJAC explains that the bill is intended to stop would be child sex abusers from generating porn using artificial intelligence. But one district attorney says that may be difficult to prove in court. Clearfield County D.A. Ryan Sayers says that because there is not a live child involved, then the victim could not be perceived as real, therefore any statue on this crime would not stand up in court, according to Sayers. State Rep. Chris Pielli is the primary sponsor of the bill, and he says that federal law already considers this a crime. Sayers applauded Pielli for introducing this bill to try and stop what he called “sick individuals” from generating and producing child porn through AI.
