Some in Harrisburg say that there is still a need for stricter gun control legislation, that they say would help cut down and be really effective in stopping mass shootings. 9 people were shot this past Sunday morning near the IUP campus, with one fatality. Officials in this case say that the problem is crystal clear, it is the ability of people to have access to guns. But finding a solution has been problematic, and the call for even stricter gun laws doesn’t seem to help at all. Making tougher gun laws for law abiding citizens is not the answer, according to some officials, but getting what they are calling unsecured weapons off the streets is the real concern of law enforcement across the state.
