A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that current superintendent William Marshall has informed the board that he will retire from that post next year. The district has contacted Emery D’arcangelo to find the next superintendent for Penn Cambria. Currently there are no internal candidates from Penn Cambria who are seeking the job, and the next super will probably come from outside the district. Marshall has been at the helm for the past 17 years, and will officially retire July 1. The district says it hopes to have a new person in place by April 1st, to give that person 3 months to be mentored by Marshall. Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and a completed application to D’arcangelo at Penn Cambria by December 1st.
