Television news reports indicate police arrested 31 year old Jessica Marie Schmidt of New Paris last Friday afternoon, after she allegedly went on a crime spree with a truck that was stolen, and was caught with a gun. The reports suggest a home was burglarized Friday afternoon. Police say that Schmidt is accused of loading stolen goods inside a car, and took off after someone called 911 and tried to stop her. Schmidt then allegedly drove over an embankment and fled the scene. Police later found an abandoned truck. Schmidt had somehow changed clothes when she was arrested. She is accused of stealing the truck and trailer to try and escape. Schmidt is in the Bedford County jail.
