A scam that targets people who are renewing their Medicaid insurance is now making the rounds. Pennsylvania Department of Human Services personnel say if a caller claims to be from the department and asks for your personal information, they’re working an angle. The officials say the state will never request details about personal benefits over the phone. The scam comes at a time when Medicaid recipients need to re-enroll to renew their coverage for the first time in about three years. December 7th is the deadline for all people to change their federal health plans and prescription drug coverage for the next year.
