The Pa., Game Commission is asking state residents to participate in a turkey sighting survey. Although turkeys are currently out of season the public is being asked to report sightings of the bird from January 15th to March 15th. You are asked to report the date, location and type of land where you spotted the birds. The State Game Commission will visit the sites to assess them, for potential to trap turkeys, however the birds will not be moved, only branded and released. Some turkeys will also be fitted with GPS transmitters to monitor their movement. Turkey sightings are to be reported to the Game Commission’s website, pgcdatacollection.pa.gov/TurkeyBroodSurvey.
