Representative Ryan Warner wants to see PennDOT pay for road-side lights on state-designated highways. Right now, the agency requires local municipalities to pay for their installation and upkeep. Warner says he’ll sponsor legislation soon to reverse this practice where a state-designated highway intersects with a highway under the jurisdiction of a municipality. He says the cost to PennDOT shall be proportional to the number of state-designated highways that intersect at the intersection where the traffic-control signals are located.
