State Heating Bills to See Fifth largest Increase This Winter

New federal figures show Pennsylvania residents may see their monthly winter utility costs increase as much as 33 percent. It’s projected that the average monthly household utility cost this winter will average about 364-dollars in the Commonwealth. That’s the fifth-highest rate in the country. Federal researchers calculated the change in utility costs from the winter of 2019-2020 and projected costs for this winter and ranked states accordingly. The primary household heating fuel source in Pennsylvania is natural gas.
