Proposal Would Protect Diners From Food Allergies

The House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee has approved legislation aimed at protecting diners from being exposed to products that activate their food allergies. House Bill 1869 would require restaurants to prominently display written information in their food preparation and service areas. They would also be required to ask customers to notify their servers about their food allergies. The state Department of Agriculture would oversee the program.
