Our latest “Local Song of the Week” is a bit of a “Homegrown Rocker” ‘oldie’ – with a twist. Now based in the Harrisburg area, musical creator Jon Spirk and his band Mileunder first released the song “Space Girl” on their 2016 album “Bedtime Stories,” and it received a good amount of airplay on the “Homegrown Rocker.” Eight years later, the song has been reimagined, thanks to Jon’s collaboration with Harrisburg area photographer Meredith Kaminek. Meredith specializes in professional portraiture as well as nature photography, and she has that special photographic eye that can discover special highlights and perspectives out of scenes that other people may only see as ordinary. The collaboration features “Space Girl” accompanied by a continuous montage of Meredith’s wondrous photo art.
