Debate has started over priorities for mental health spending in next year’s state budget. Two of the goals discussed about Governor Josh Shapiro’s funding plan involve increasing base funding for county-run mental health services and modernizing the behavioral health crisis system in Pennsylvania. The governor has proposed a 20-million-dollar boost for base funding for county-run mental health facilities in the next fiscal year
