After being hit with nearly 5 inches of rain, flood waters continue to swamp portions of Central Pennsylvania.  A river flood warning is in effect until this morning at 11:45 as the Frankstown branch of the Juniata River in Williamsburg, and the Little Juniata River at Spruce creek have overflowed their banks.  Many homes in the area experienced some level of flooding, with Frankstown Township being hit the hardest. Also, a number of roads are still closed due to flood waters. Authorities remind everyone that motorists should never drive thru flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. As issues are addressed, area roads will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so. For the latest information on road closures and conditions go to www.511PA.com.
