The North Star High School, in Somerset County will be operating under a flexible instruction day today as authorities with the EPA conduct air quality testing. Yesterday, an incident began in which several students from both the high school and the Somerset County Technology Center, began feeling ill, while local EMS crews were on the scene to conduct a training exercise with the student body. Reportedly, nearly 40 patients were treated at UPMC Somerset for what is believed to have been carbon monoxide poisoning. A number of tests have been conducted at the high school so far, with negative results. Emergency officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
