Thousands in the Commonwealth and here in Blair County came out yesterday to view the solar eclipse. Despite cloud cover, the eclipse was visible much of the time to the delight of many. Here at home, we were able to observe 95.4% totality. The eclipse began around 2 p.m. and reached maximum around 3:19. The next total solar eclipse visible in the U.S. will occur in 2044 over Montana and the Dakotas.
