Penn State’s star linebacker, Abdul Carter is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a tow truck driver last month. State College Police were sent to the scene near an apartment complex on Squirrel Drive after a 911 caller informed authorities that her boyfriend was being assaulted by an unknown male, who was later identified as Carter. Officers say the victim, who is employed by Half Moon Valley Towing, was called to the Aspen State College apartment complex to enforce a parking violation. When the vehicle was being towed, the alarm sounded, which prompted Carter to confront him. Police say surveillance footage showed Carter grabbing the victim and throwing him to the ground.  Authorities say the assault stopped once Carter learned that police had been called. Carter was charged yesterday with simple assault and harassment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 22nd.
