The DEA is partnering with participating local health organizations and law enforcement agencies for tomorrow’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.  The event is an opportunity for Pennsylvania residents and others to safely drop off and dispose of expired and unneeded prescription medications.  Drop-off locations will be available in most communities.  The Allegheny Township Police Dept., will host a drug collection at Sam’s Club from 10 am-2 pm tomorrow.  In addition, the Altoona Police Department will set up a collection site at Martin’s on Chestnut Avenue, as will the Blair County Sheriff’s office at the county courthouse. The Department of Veterans Affairs Police will be accepting unused prescription drugs at the DVA office, and Penn State Altoona, will have a site at the Poplar Building.  All pick-ups run from 10-2.  A complete list of  sites can be found at www.dea.gov/takebackday.com.
