A 39 year old Tipton man is behind bars today after police found him illegally possessing drugs and guns, and who then tried to break into the police compound to get them back.  He’s been identified as Michael McClellan. On May 8th state police were called about a man pouring battery acid into waterways in Huntingdon County, and shooting guns towards a river that fishermen and kayakers use. McClellan already had an active warrant and was arrested and searched.  McClellan’s truck was towed and the next day a search of the impounded vehicle found illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, guns and ammo. On May 12th, state police discovered a section of the fence surrounding the impound lot had been cut. Bolt cutters used to cut the fence were later found in the back seat of  McClellan’s truck. McClellan is facing several felony counts of prohibited possession of a firearm, a felony count of drug delivery and numerous other charges. He is currently in the Huntingdon County Prison. Bail has been denied. His preliminary hearing is set for May 22nd.
