An executive order signed by Governor Josh Shapiro last week directs the Department of General Services to work to expand child care availability for state workers. It’s in an effort to make the state government a more attractive employment option. The order also indicates that the state will work to expand apprenticeship and internship programs in order to recruit more prospective workers. The order also directs state agencies to provide notice to workers making clear that they can use sick time to address their mental health needs.
