An unpleasant odor wafting over both Cambria and Somerset Counties in recent days is believed to be coming from a pig farm. Authorities began to get complaints about the stench beginning Tuesday afternoon. The Department of Environmental Protection was contacted, however, local farmers reportedly have said the smell is coming from a pig farm in Somerset County, due to the spreading of manure, to prepare the ground for the next crop. Reportedly, no violations have occurred, and the farmer is working with conservation groups in Somerset County, looking for ways to avoid a further situation like this from happening again.
