The people for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has announced they have offered the Groundhog Club of Punxsutawney a yearly treat to make their weather prediction, in exchange for the retirement of the world’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil. In a letter sent to the club, PETA offered up a “Weather Reveal” vegan cake each Groundhog Day in perpetuity, if the club agrees to retire Phil. PETA says the cake would be one of two colors. When cut, you would see it’s either blue, which would signify six more weeks of winter, or pink meaning an early spring. PETA is asking the club to give Phil over to a reputable wildlife sanctuary, in exchange for the yearly cake.
