apd

Two officers with the Altoona Police Department were honored last week by the New York Police Department, in regards to the capture of Luigi Mangione.  New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch recognized officers Joseph Detwiler and Tyler Frye for their roles in the arrest of  Mangione.  The two were named honorary NYPD detectives.  Mangione was wanted for the fatal shooting of Brian Thompson, who was the CEO of United Healthcare.  Thompson was shot on the streets of New York while he was attending a conference in December.  A nationwide manhunt ended when Mangione was spotted and arrested at McDonalds here in Altoona, by officers Detwiler and Frye.
