Governor Josh Shapiro paid a visit to Bethlehem Township yesterday. The governor stopped by Farmersville Elementary School to visit students and discuss his plan to address the teacher shortage in Pennsylvania. Shapiro wants to increase the number of ten-thousand-dollar stipends available to student teachers, stating that the financial security would keep prospective educators from having to choose other careers. According to the governor, there are more than five-thousand teacher vacancies across the Commonwealth.
