The State College Area School District has proposed a budget for 2025-26 that would include a 4% real estate tax increase. Personnel costs are expected to increase by nearly $9 million and are the primary reason for the increase in expenses. Reportedly the budget will continue to be refined in coming weeks, but the 4% real estate tax increase is expected to stand. The school board is expected to vote on a proposed budget on April 21st, with a public hearing on May 5th, and adoption of a final budget on June 2nd.
