A man who was previously accused of defacing Jewish properties in Pittsburgh is now under federal indictment on explosives and conspiracy charges. U.S. prosecutors say 23-year-old Mohamad Hamad made explosive devices and detonated them at Rothrock State Forest in State College last summer. Hamad, who is a former Pennsylvania Air National Guard member, is also accused of lying to officials while applying for a top secret security clearance, saying he was loyal to the U.S. while telling acquaintances that he sympathizes with Palestine and Lebanon. Hamad and 24-year-old Talya Lubit, of Pittsburgh, were both charged for allegedly vandalizing Chabad of Squirrel Hill and the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh building in July of last year.
