A house fire in Altoona last night resulted in the death of one occupant, and injury to several city firefighters, some who had to be transported to a Pittsburgh Hospital. Complete details are unknown at this time, but according to the Altoona Fire Department, the fire broke out around 10:30 last night at a home located at 105 East 4th Avenue. There are reports there were three occupants, two of which were children, who were rescued by city firefighters through an attic window. One occupant inside the home is reported to have died. Cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but an investigation is underway. We will update you further as details become available.
