Bail has been denied for the 20-year-old man who was accused earlier of targeting the State College Area School District with an alleged shooting plot. The first hearing for Braeden Phillips of Milroy, Pennsylvania was held yesterday in Centre County Court. Phillips was arrested early last month after he allegedly planned to shoot up the high school to coincide with the anniversary of the Columbine shooting. Authorities reported that Phillips, and an unnamed juvenile, who has not yet been charged, were planning to plant explosives in the high school and were also allegedly in possession of a hit list. Yesterday during the preliminary hearing, the judge denied to set bail, and Phillips remains in the Centre County Prison. Phillips faces charges that include terroristic threats, conspiracy to commit murder, and illegal firearms possession. His charges have been bound over for trial.
