Flags were at half-staff across Pennsylvania this past weekend to honor firefighters that were killed in the line of duty. Governor Josh Shapiro ordered the U.S. and Commonwealth flags to fly at half-staff in recognition of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. The governor said every day, firefighters run towards danger to keep Pennsylvanians safe. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, there have been 279 on-duty firefighter deaths in Pennsylvania since 1990.
