A Carrolltown woman who was an employee at an insurance company, is facing nearly 1500 felony counts after she allegedly embezzled nearly $200,000 from her Ebensburg employer over a two year period. Arraigned last week was 48-year-old Stacey Eckenrode. According to the Ebensburg Borough Police she was taken into custody after an investigation was prompted by her employer who reported theft of funds through electronic transfers along with unauthorized checks. She is facing charges that include theft by deception, forgery, and other related counts. Eckenrode was released on unsecured bail. Her preliminary hearing is slated for May 13th.
