A Pennsylvania State Senator introduced a resolution earlier this week honoring the police officer killed while responding to the shooting at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York County. State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill said Officer Andrew Duarte “demonstrated exemplary knowledge, ability, and integrity” in the “finest hour of public service.” Investigators say Duarte was killed by friendly fire during the shooting and hostage situation on February 22nd. The resolution would honor Duarte and send condolences to his family.
