The National Weather Service issued a flood watch until 8:00 this morning for Blair, Bedford, Somerset, Huntingdon, Fulton, Franklin and Adams Counties. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flash flooding has already occurred in Somerset County, with Meyersdale residents in low-lying areas, having been ordered to evacuate, and a state of emergency has been issued by borough authorities. Gas lines in Meyersdale were shut off yesterday, and the Casselman River is rising. Authorities remind motorists not to drive through floodwaters. No injuries have been reported in Somerset County at this time.
