The general manager at Applebee’s in State College has been arrested after she allegedly embezzled more than $33,000. According to Patton Township Police, 45-year-old Shannon Mathis has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property, forgery, and other related counts, after police were called about a number of large discrepancies between transaction records and money that was deposited. Reportedly, deposits were missing or inaccurate from July to November of last year. Mathis has been arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.
