Members of the Penn State Faculty Alliance have delivered a petition to the university president protesting the proposed closure of seven of the university’s Commonwealth Campuses, including the DuBois Campus in Clearfield County. The petition reportedly says the university administration “fast-tracked” the plan and made the decision in private in what they are calling a “reckless pace.” The petition also goes on to state the administration failed to fully analyze how these closures will impact communities, staff and students. Today, the Board of Trustees are scheduled to meet at 5:00 p.m. and vote on the proposal to close the seven campuses following the 2026-27 academic year.
