Trump Announces Deal Between U.S. Steel, Nippon Steel

us-steel-3

It appears that a deal between U.S. Steel and Japan’s Nippon Steel is moving forward.  Last Friday, President Trump announced what he called a “planned partnership” between the two companies, with officials from both sides confirming the statement and thanking the president for his involvement.  U.S. Steel headquarters will remain in Pittsburgh and Nippon will be investing 14-billion dollars into the company, according to Trump.  Leaders with Nippon Steel previously promised to put nearly two-and-a-half-billion into facilities in Pennsylvania, including at least one-billion to replace or remodel the hot strip mill at the Mon Valley Works.
