Cause Of Deadly Altoona Fire Undetermined

The cause of the fire that damaged the Colonial Apartments, off Burgoon Road in Altoona, and resulted in the death of one of its residents, has been ruled undetermined.  Reportedly Altoona Fire Inspector Justin Smithmyer said the damage was so extensive that a cause cannot be pinpointed.  The blaze broke out on March 18^th, killing 65-year-old Darren Duffel.  It was believed the fire likely started in the area where Duffel lived, and quickly spread through the roof of the building.
