The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that a former Centre County man has been sentence to serve decades in prison for production of child pornography and online enticement. Forty-one-year-old Louis Wetzel of Howard has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. In 2023 Wetzel was found to be in possession of a trove of child sexual exploitation material during a search of his home. Authorities with the FBI say a forensic review of his digital devices revealed conversations between Wetzel and a 12-year-old minor in which he coerced the child to produce and distribute, to him, child pornography. He also is reported to have had the ability to offer up children for sale to adults, wanting to engage in sexual acts for money. Wetzel was also ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to the victims.
